We speak with Eleanor about expansion, product development and on Rawcliffe's regular award wins.

Can you describe your role at Cepac?

I am a Business Development Manager for Rawcliffe, responsible for developing packaging solutions both for key customers and new clients.

Our world is changing with increasing emphasis upon environmental sustainability and Health and Safety, always taking the requirements of our customers and end users very much into account.

Currently both the Rawcliffe and our Group offering is being expanded through a major programme of investment and we are currently working upon several significant projects.

What does your typical day look like at Cepac?

My typical day involves creating design solutions to solve the problems which our customers are encountering. Although there are regular review meetings, my day tends to be based around changing customer needs and therefore can be quite ad hoc.

Very often we are working to innovate to meet new challenges or to solve a problem with the existing packaging.

What have been your recent standout events?

We have now won UK Packaging Awards for two years running.

The ‘Softliner’ kitchen door pack is an original solution which was developed to overcome the problem of damage in transit by means of an environmentally friendly solution. Various other solutions such as bubble wrap with taping had been explored but dismissed in favour of corrugated packaging.

With strong support from our customer, we developed an ingenious and effective pack, and succeeded in reducing waste very significantly.

What project has made you most proud to be involved?

We have undertaken numerous successful projects for Ideal Heating. Typically, these involve extensive development and testing, and we would normally have a range of projects on the go, all involving design, prototyping and extensive collaboration with the customer. Very often the chosen solution is very different from that which we had first envisaged – and all the better for it!

What do Cepac do particularly well?

Cepac has several unique advantages with a tremendous capability in both packaging and print. Our print technologies range from Flexo post print to preprint, from Offset Litho to digital.

Our real advantage, looking beyond our kit, is people and expertise and this is why we are able to excel for our customers.
